Commendable services by VIMS Doctors

when a multi-storied building under construction collapsed with more than 50 construction workers still under it on the day of 28th jan 2010, the emergency rescue team from vims bellary reached the site at the first notice. the specialities from vims were the first to respond to the crisis and started to deliver emergency aid and rapidly organized more assistance. The doctors and the staff of various specialities of VIMS Bellary toiled day and night to give first aid at the site of the building collapse. Critically ill patients were immediately shifted to the VIMS hospital and majority were successfully treated. Medical teams from VIMS carried out medical and mental health consultations to the people rescued in the collapse.

Local responders and doctors from VIMS were primarily responsible for carrying out the immediate response to the emergency: the local population mobilized to rescue the injured and local health structures were the first to care for the wounded.
